COMMISSIONERS OF OATH AND

CERTIFIED IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS

Dear Valued Client,

As part of adherence to KYC compliance

requirements, BIPA continues to require

certified copies of identification documents

(ID’s and Passports) when clients transact with

the Authority. Passports issued from foreign

jurisdictions should be notarized by a notary

public in that jurisdiction. Where a foreign

national is present in Namibia at the time of

conducting business with the Authority, BIPA

will accept locally certified passports of such

individuals.

After consultation with the Law Society of

Namibia, BIPA will now accept certified

documents by Commissioners of Oath in

Namibia. Certified documents should not be

older than six (6) months.

All identification documents submitted to BIPA

must therefore be originally certified, effective
