REGISTRAR’S DIRECTIVE
(RD NO 2 of 2020)
LIFESPAN OF SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS
The Business and Intellectual Property Authority, was established to be the focal point for the
registration of business and industrial property, and is responsible for the administration and
protection of business and intellectual property.
The Regulations of the Companies Act and Close Corporations Act, Regulation 3 (4), states that:
“The Registrar may reject any document which in his or her opinion is unsuitable for
record-keeping purpose.”
Notice is hereby given that incomplete applications lodged with the Registrar’s office will not be
processed and that the public will be given 3 months from the date of notification by the Registrar
to the applicant to collect incomplete applications for resubmission. Failure to collect, the
application process will be closed and as a result a new application would have to be lodged with
the Registrar’s office.
