A CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
CONSULTANCY TO DEVELOP A COMPREHENSIVE FRAMEWORK
FOR THE EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
NAMIBIA INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY ACT
In 2012, Namibia passed the Industrial Property Act, 2012 (Act No. 1 of 2012) to
provide for the establishment of the industrial Property Office; to provide for the
grant, protection and administration of patents and utility model certificates; to
provide for the registration, protection and administration of industrial designs; to
provide for the registration, protection and administration of trade marks, collective
marks, certification marks and trade names; to provide for the registration of
industrial property agents; to provide for the establishment of an Industrial Property
Tribunal and to provide for the incidental matters.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry is seeking the services of a Consultant to develop
an enabling implementation framework. The consultancy services entail the drafting
of Regulations for Trade Marks, Patents, Utility Models and Industrial Designs;
develop related training manuals and program for Ministry staff; and provide related
training for IP stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of the Industrial
Property Act.

15h00. No late submissions will be accepted. Only the successful applicants will be
